Nanganga Village Unites in Support of Pregnant Girls' Education
LHRC recently convened a gathering with the residents of Nanganga village in Ndanda ward, Masasi district, Mtwara region, to address concerns surrounding the welfare of the girl child and the obstacles they encounter. Leading the discussion was Adv. Getrude Dyabene, the Senior Program Officer at LHRC's Gender Desk, who facilitated an open forum for villagers to voice their perspectives on why girls drop out of school and their attitudes toward pregnant girls returning to education.
During the meeting, there was a unanimous show of support from the villagers for the notion of pregnant girls resuming their studies to pursue their goals. They expressed their collective commitment to ensuring that girls are welcomed back to school after giving birth, thus emphasizing their dedication to empowering and enabling them to achieve their dreams
