Dr. Ringo Tenga is an advocate, notary public, and commissioner for oaths. He has lectured at the Faculty of Law at the University of Dar es Salaam. He served as a board member for the Legal and Human Rights Centre (LHRC) from 1997 to 2007 and worked as a State Attorney (Trainee) in 1976 before joining the University. Dr. Tenga holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) with First Class Honors from the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania (1976), a Master of Laws (LL.M) from the same university (1981), and a Doctor of Philosophy in Private Law (Ph.D.) also from the University of Dar es Salaam (1985). He has contributed significantly to the educational programs of various institutions, including the Institute of Transport, Institute of Adult Education, Institute of Development Management and Public Administration (Mzumbe University), Ardhi University, Tumaini University, and the Law School of Tanzania. Dr. Tenga has authored numerous publications focused on human rights for human development. Dr. Tenga has been a member of professional bodies such as Amnesty International (Tanzania Section), Canadian University Services Overseas (CUSO) from 1987 to 1990, Defence for Children International, Tanganyika Law Society, and the Consumer Association of Tanzania. He served as the Chairman of the National Consumer Advocacy Council (under the auspices of the Fair Competition Act, 2003) from 2005 to 2010 and as the Chairman of the Child Law Reform Group, The Law Reform Commission (GoT) from 1988 to 1990. Additionally, he was a member of the Bank of Tanzania Task Force on Mortgage Financing Legislation in 2007.
