Legal and Human Rights Centre (LHRC) is pleased to announce the official launch of its 23rd Annual Tanzania Human Rights Report, titled:
“The Resurgence of Unknown Assailants.”
This publication presents a critical and comprehensive account of the state of human rights in Tanzania throughout 2024.
The launch event will be held in Dar es Salaam on 5th May 2025, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. The proceedings will be streamed live via Haki TV, enabling participation from both national and international audiences.
This year’s report offers a rigorous, evidence-based assessment of human rights practices in Mainland Tanzania and Zanzibar. It is grounded in internationally recognized human rights standards and legal frameworks. The report covers civil and political rights, economic and social rights, and collective rights, while drawing attention to emerging and urgent concerns, including:
Abductions and enforced disappearances
Violence against women and children
Incidents of mob justice
Systemic barriers to justice and equality
Key Highlights of the Launch:
Presentation of major findings from the 2024 report
