Dr. Ringo Tenga

Dr. Ringo Tenga is an Advocate, Notary Public, and Commissioner for Oaths, he lectured at the faculty of Law, University of Dar es Salaam. Dr. Tenga worked as a State Attorney (Trainee) in 1976 before coming to the University. Dr. Tenga holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B (Hons.) First Class School of Law from the University of Dar es Salaam in Tanzania (1976), a Master of Laws (LL.M) from the University of Dar es Salaam in Tanzania (1981), and a Doctor of Philosophy (Private Law) from the University of Dar es Salaam in Tanzania (1985). He also contributed a lot to the education programs of the Institute of Transport; Institute of Adult Education, Institute of Development Management and Public Administration (Mzumbe University), Ardhi University, Tumaini University, Law School of Tanzania.  Also, he has written a lot of publications centered on human rights for human development.

Tenga has been a member of professional bodies such as Amnesty International (Tanzania Section), Canadian University Services Overseas (CUSO) 1987-1990, Defence for Children Internation, Tanganyika Law Society,  Consumer Association of Tanzania, Defence for Children Internation.

He has also served as a board member for the Legal and Human Rights Centre, (LHRC) from 1997 to 2007, Chairman of the National Consumer Advocacy Council- (Under the Auspices of the Fair Competition Act, 2003)from  2005 to 2010, Chairman of Child Law Reform Group, The Law Reform Commission (GoT)from 1988 to 90, Member in Bank of Tanzania Task Force on Mortage financing Legislation, 2007.
