
Ambassador of Sweden to Tanzania H.E. Charlotta-Ozaki Macias paid a courtesy visit to LHRC Kinondoni Legal Aid office.
13th September 2022, Ambassador of Sweden to Tanzania H.E. Charlotta-Ozaki Macias paid a courtesy visit to the Legal and Human Rights Centre (LHRC) Kinondoni Legal Aid office. Other Sweden Embassy Representatives include; the incoming Senior Program Officer (Governance and HumanRights) Ms. Eva Ladeborn and the Councilor Deputy Head of Mission and Head of Development Cooperation Ms. Sandra Diesel along with five colleagues from the Embassy.
This partnership meeting was led by LHRC’s Ms. Felista Mauya (Ag. Executive Director/ Director of Empowerment and Accountability), Mr. Fulgence Massawe (Director of Advocacy and Reforms), Ms. Rita Mchaki (Sustainability and Compliance Manager) and Mr. Amani Joachim, Strategic Litigation Officer and Officer-in-Charge of the Kinondoni Legal Aid Office.
During the meeting the two parties discussed key LHRC achievements as well as future areas of cooperation. The visit was a unique opportunity for the staff at the Embassy to experience first-hand the work that LHRC does to support the underserved communities of Dar es Salaam.
The team from the embassy were taken through the different departments of the Legal Aid i.e. (Civil, Land, Family and Labour) and were presented with firsthand information about key issues and trends. Sweden is one of LHRC’s main development partners in the area of Human Rights and good governance, LHRC looks forward to continued partnership with the Embassy of Sweden in Tanzania. H.E. Ambassador Charlotta-Ozaki Macias promised to also visit the Legal and Human Rights Centre Headquarters at Kijitonyama and the Legal Aid Clinic in Arusha.
